>Sorry, John, but I'm failling to follow you. As far as I can experiment, FCREATE() honors the filename case (such as in FCREATE("UPPERCASE.TXT"), FCREATE("lowercase.txt") or FCREATE("MixedCase.Txt")). So why the need to change it afterwards? I even tried to upload each of these files to a UNIX server (via FTP) and they came out nicely as expected...

I'm not getting the same results you are.

Win2000 everything works.

Win NT 4 I can't get anything but lower case. There is not one line of code changed. After I have closed the exe - I have to use window explorer to change the case of the file name. When I change the case of the filename and use all caps and then save - the case changes back to lower case. If I only change the first few letters of the filename to upper case and then save - the OS maintains the case of the filename.

I have now tested this on a second win NT 4 with SP6 and it does not act the same as the workstation I'm having trouble with. So now I'm sure it has something to do with the service pack.

Of course this might be moot because yesterday it was decided that all the machines would be upgraded to win2000.

I did not find an "API 41"?????

Thanks all
John
