Anyone else have trouble placing a subclassed MainMenu control on a Windows.Form?

My controls subclass is a separate project which has been added to the toolbox. Other controls seem to drop on the form fine but not the Main menu. Dragging and dropping the standard windows forms MainMenu control was ok.

Also, does anyone know if it should be necessary to remove my custom controls and then add them again every time I make a change?
