Hi Peter,

>>proposed here for wide discussion prior to finalizing for inclusion in appropriate CHATTER forum category

>>The Fox Team at MS has proven beyond any possible doubt that they read and heed the UT Wish List!

>If you say so, then I believe you. But I know of no list that clearly shows the direct relation between wishlist items and what's-new in vfp8. It would really be nice to view such a list and notice that some of 'your own' items too were implemented in one way or the other.

I see that VladG has been going through the wish list and adding a "comment" in wishes that he believes to have been incorporated into VFP8.
I was also going to make a summary (counts of wishes fulfulled) and present it here, but I was unable to get a complete list of all of the changes (no beta in hand and no such list publicly available). However, it sure looks to me like the count will be well over 100, counting duplicated wishes. To me that's excellent, especially compared with prior releases and their features (versus UT wishes at those times). I saw less than 5 in VFP6 and around 20 in VFP7.

>>-- That there are three (3) pages of wishes under the "API" area (category), where in fact only one or two of them actually pertain to the API area, strongly suggests that many originators do not select an "area" at all (API is the first in the list, so the default entry). This very much needs to be addressed as it significantly devalues the search facility attached to the wish list service.

>Huh? Am I supposed to choose an area first?? Unknown to me, really, no joke.

Nothing 'forces' you to at this time and it looks like many others also do not know to do it.

>It's been a while since some of us (me too) asked Michel for a 'Bug Tracker' or 'Bug List'. Hope it's not somewhere deep down buried in a Todo list, or worse.

I hope to see improvements in that area some day too!

>The idea of discussion of a wish, followed by either a rejection or a (rewritten) request, is appealing.

I haven't lost hope on this desire either.

cheers
