>My question is this: Is the InstallShield system which comes with 7.0, more reliable than the old setup wizard?

Hello David (and anyone else, please, who is paying attention to ISE Limited Edition issues)

I have been using InstallShield for about a year and it is far, far better that the 'old' setup wizard. ('Old' because in between I switched to Visual Studio Installer and it was a great improvement but too finicky.)

However ...

1. ISE Limited Edition creates unstable builds and unpredictably drops out project features. If others haven't experienced this, they are lucky. Installshield support have acknowledged this, but essentially expect you to buy Installshield Express 3.54 which fixes the problems.

(Q. What are MS plans for packaged installer support with VFP8?)

2. The Microsoft-written component VfpHTMLHelp.msm which drops in support for HTML help in VFP just doesn't work. (Various threads explain the workaround.)

(Q. Any time soon the authors could fix this would be fine - a download on the VFP site perhaps?)

It may sound odd to endorse a product that isn't working, but the way to go is with an installer that wraps the MSI service. It happens that Installshield have done this, even if our version is at present a dud.
