I'm sorry that I stuck my nose into this. I'm sure Cathi will instantly know what's wrong when she get's a chance to read this. But, if I may ask one silly question? If just the path to the file works, why use ALLTRIM?

FWIW, I quickly tried a simple example with a memo field and a path to a JPG. Then I created a report and added a picture control. I don't get any error when I put "ALLTRIM(File.Field)" in the picture file field. OTOH, running the report tells me I need a general field. :-\
