Late question, but where does the C# study group stand? Has it started? If not when is it scheduled to start.

I'm not sure what you mean by "where it stands?" but I'll try to answer it anyway: What we're doing is basically setting up a cost effective way for developers to get their feet wet with C#. Some will pay $1500 to $3000 for a week course and don't end up being productive until 6 months later. We're stretching out the course for 6 six for a cost of $50(meeting twice a month) while reading along with one of the WROX Books (members buy their own books - about $100). There are two of us that are presenting the session in a presentation style with PowerPoint Slides and code samples which you can download from http://www.csharpstudygroup.com for your own use. The members have about 2 weeks to read through (roughly) three chapters which is pretty reasonable reading.

We started a study group in Woodland Hills, CA at a sponsored facility. That group is about 3 meetings into the study, already. We started another study group in the city of Pasadena, CA which is scheduled to start on November 7, 2002 at another sponsored facility.

These are located in California however, I have been contacted by a few companies to come in and do an excellerated version of the course for a low price (usually for $5000 with paid expenses for a 3 day cram session). This turns out to be a real bargain if the company has a team of 5 or more. Companies pay $1500 to $2000 plus expenses for each developer for a Beginners C#, 5 day course - at $5000 plus expenses for a whole team in your facility turns out to be a real bargain. With flights and hotels as low as they are today (especially with careful scheduling) another $500 to $700 for expenses isn't bad.

I hope this answers your questions - Please feel free to contact me for any more information.
