while not yet in production, I am about to use XFRX (www.eqeus.com)
It produces .doc and PDF, I am only interested in PDF.
You can include it in your app, distribute with no royalties. Does not require any special printer driver, easy to use (two or three lines of code)
easy to setup (include in your app plus copy a couple of dlls).
You can download a trial. Works OK for my needs.
