If you wish to expose your question to the maximum audience, a new thread should be started in the proper forum in the proper category. That will allow everyone to see your question. If you post it in an actual ongoing thread, this goes against the proper etiquette and only interested people in the actual original question of the thread will probably read any following messages thus you are limiting yourself to resolve the issue.

Everything on the Universal Thread is proper categorized and this is also needed for that. A lot of features are taking benefit of such an infrastructure thus the importance of posting in the proper place.
