I'll try. I just spoke with my manager trying to identify the version of our Novell. He told me, it's either 4.0 or 4.3 on another server, he confused itself. Our Network Administrator is not here today.

Anyway, we're switching to NT shortly, so we'll see.
My Novell Client version is 4.83 I'm working with files on the network. Perhaps, I better work on my own local drive and see, if I would have similar problems and file issues.

Right now I somehow messed one form, I can not open it for editting. So, about 1h. of morning's work is wasted :(

May be our Network Administrator has to do "some configurations"...

>Nadya, at my previous employment I used Groupwise, Novell 5.x servers, Novell clients, and Windows 2000 in a development environment without any problems. There were some configurations I had to do on client workstations to work with VFP and Novell, but that is all. I am surprised how many times it is recommended in the UT to use the MS Client instead for connectivity to a Novell server, but that recommendation is typically not given by Novell administrators. Keep in mind that when you switch client software, you lose all of the benefits provided by the Novell client as well as the security. While there may be rare instances when that is required, it should be a last resort. Especially if your network uses Zenworks to distribute apps, updates, configurations, etc.
