We have a vfp6.0sp5 client which requires to have some data updated on the local workstation from a remote Oracle 8i database. A custom DLL was created to perform this task using HTTP as the protocol. The DLL calls the server through HTTP requesting any updates. The server sends packets to the requesting workstation which places them into a simple text file. The file is then parsed into a cursor and the update begins. This process has worked for the past three years.

Recently we have some clients complaining that the update process no longer works. One minor change has been put in place at the remote server side, where the ip address has changed. The DLL was modified and supplied back to ALL users. The change to the DLL is not the problem.

User A:

User A has two possible ways to connect from the same workstation: ADSL and dialup. The DialUp works fine but the ADSL fails.

User B-different workstations:

All three workstations don't work. Each workstation is setup differently, IE5.0, IE5.5 and IE6.0 which probably have corresponding wininet.dll versions and winsock versions.

Any ideas would be muchly apprreciated.
