Another good thing to do is to keep builds of your application. For example, each night I backup whatever I'm working on to a CD. Now this may seem foolish to some as I end up with another pile of 300+ cd's each year...but blank cd's are all of 20 cents each right now, and the important part is that if push ever comes to shove you can show "project progression"..nightly builds from when you started on it. Kind of hard for someone to come along and try to convince someone that your application is theirs when you can show the progression of it's development.

>How true. Better yet – have a good attorney and lots of money to protect your copyright! A friend of mine went through this experience and his product was copyrighted. He "won", and got a $60,000 bill from his attorney. Condidering that was more than his annual sales there was a bit of an imbalance felt. Winning is not everything. For attorneys it does not matter if you win or loose. Just pay the man! :)
