I think I tried it - and got errors (back in 99). I fixed some desktop problems and got ITC to work. It's a little fuzzy - but I don't remember being explicit about the first null argument (""). I will check it out this weekend and follow up. I hope microsoft still has "Disclaimer.TXT" on her ftp site:)

I am not sure myself if PASV works, since it isn't mentioned as a valid command in the MSDN library for the Execute method. Personally I use a third party product (SocketTools Library Secure Edition) from www.catalyst.com with good success and I know others who use West-Winds library (as mentioned by someone else) with good success too for FTP.

I was able to put together a nifty little client with ITC. The off the shelf MS activex controls are reliable - feature packed and easy to code (SCX or PRG). Hardly any seams and MS "gives" em away [well, almost!].

Michel has written a nifty argument on "Why use a Control". That might be a good way. Getchunk is an offbeat discipline:)
