>What is the best trick to get VFP/Windows to completely flush pending screen operations? Sometimes when I need to display an information message but then continue processing with no user intervention (such as a splash screen or a status screen during some long operation) I have problems with forms not completely painting... as if the GDI commands are given such low priority that they never complete. The only trick I know is to do:
>wait "" timeout 0.1
>Which wastes 1/10 second but usually has the desired effect. Is there a more elegant way?

Wrap the update in a LOCKSCREEN:
thisform.lockscreen = .t.
*
*  Do your screen updates
*
thisform.refresh()
thisform.lockscreen = .f.
