>>>I am working with a FPD 2.6 app that we want to run in VFP6 or 7. The application runs without any problems with one exception. In DOS the user was presented with a menu in a box surrounded with graphical characters, e.g. chr(178),chr(177),chr(176). Using VFP6 and setting _screen.fontname='foxfont' does not always work. It depends on the machines it is running on. For example, on an NT4 machine it did not work until I put foxfont in the fonts folder. On a W2K machine nothing we tried has worked. Changing the menu would not be a problem but after reviewing the app we discovered that characters like chr(4) are used throughout the app. A rewrite is planned but getting this good 'ole app to run as is for now would be a great help. Any ideas??

It's an easy thing to try... under W2K, Start...Settings...Control Panel, open Fonts, then on the menu click on File...Install New Font.

A font can also be installed programmatically:
