The Meeting Results

Once again, we had a fantastic session Monday night in Woodland Hills. In this particular session we managed to sneak in an additional session because we're eager to start working with some real "meaty" stuff. We actually had one more session before we began the Visual Studio.NET tour so we decided to pick up the pace and cram it into our last meeting. This is where you take the pieces that you've learn in the past sessions and put it all together to begin working with the VS.NET interface and write an actual mini application.

I've posted the sample code for you to download.

The Challenge
In our last meeting, we talked about how much "OOP Power" VFP has - in fact we went as far as demonstrating how to create the game Rock, Paper, Scissors in VFP and not include a single conditional statement. That's right - no If...EndIf, no Do While...EndDo, no For loop and not even a Do Case...EndCase. One call, one result.

The Challenge I present to everyone is to right the same application in C#. Here are the rules:

You don't need a user interface for this game.
Written in C# a console application will do.
You must make use of inheritance and polymorphism (it's the only way you'll be able to do it).
If you need to cheat you can download the code from the C# Sharp Study Group Site (http://www.csharpstudygroup.com)

What's new?
There are some new links up for you to check out. These new links include everything from newsgroups to talk shows. These are definitely sites to book mark because they have plenty of content - in fact, so much that you'll have to come back again and again.

In case you haven't noticed - we have our own domain!! Book mark our new URL http://www.csharpstudygroup.com - visit us often since we're continuously updating our site with new content.

Until next time…
