>So here's the deal folks. I have been programming mainly in Xbase since DbaseIII plus. About 15 years. I have started writing programs in C# and am getting the hang of it. But I'm considering getting a Masters in Computer Science. Being self taught, I'm beginning to wonder how much information and techniques I have missed by skipping the formal education.

You can take a correspondence study, and save lots of bucks and hours. For instance, look at the program at www.grantham.edu. For more options, get the Bear's Catalog (www.degree.net).

At least under these circumstances, I think yes, it is worth the trouble. There are quite a few additional things you will learn through a formal study.

Hilmar.
Difference in opinions hath cost many millions of lives: for instance, whether flesh be bread, or bread be flesh; whether whistling be a vice or a virtue; whether it be better to kiss a post, or throw it into the fire... (from Gulliver's Travels)
