Usually this error message means that there is already one connection between your computer and the server or remote computer using a different set of credentials. It typically happens when you have a drive mapped to a computer and then you try to map a second drive using the 'Connect As' field to connect to it using a different User ID.

IF this is what you are doing, before you can map the second drive you will either have to drop the first connection, or you will have to make the second connection using the same ID and Password as the first connection. You might also be able to drop the first connection and reconnect to it using the same credentials that you will be using for the 2nd connection.

-Otherwise, are you being prompted for a password only by any chance? When you receive a prompt for a password but no user name, this is a prompt for the administrator password only.

-Do you have duplicate user names and passwords on the workstation you are trying to connect from as exist on the domain itself? (You should have to troubleshoot at least). Are there any other connections or domains?

-Also, I have seen this due to .PWL files and also due to credential information that is saved in Outlook .PST files. In some cases it was necessary to delete not only the .PWL files, but also .PST files also.

-I also think there is an article out there regarding this error after migrations.

HTH,

Tracy

>I have had some occasional problems: 1. Getting my XP pro workstation to join a W2K domain. It won't join. Acts like my account does not have authoroty to join the domain, although I have admin rights on both the domain controller and the local workstation.
