The AllowAddNew is a property on the grid. Just set it to .T. in the property sheet and see if that handles automatically adding a new line.

As for the rest, if you TABLEREVERT() the row that was added that's still all blank, then the grid might be refreshed. Depending on what the RecordSource and RecordSourceType are.
