I had a LOT of problems using prepared SQL statements with parameter substitution (the ?variable syntax), worst of all was that in 8.1.5 sometimes worked, in 8.1.6 it did not work at all and in 8.1.7 failed in different ways depending of which revision was used...

Creating stored procedures via ODBC is another problem area with Oracle ODBC drivers.

ALL these problems were solved by just using MS odbc for Oracle.

In general I found Oracle ODBC drivers to be so unreliable that I could not use them for production work....
