You are quite right. The problem turned out to be that we had data on Windows 98, and connected with 2000/XP workstations. Since we upgraded the server to 2000, the problems was solved.
I found it out by trial and error before I read your thread, but thank you very much anyway. You were right on target. For the last two days, no more thrashed files!!!
It might interest you to know that the client running the FoxPro 2.6 based accounting software is a company with a turnover in excess of US$100 Million per year, and have roughly 20 people working on the system at any given time. The old Fox is still kicking!
>First, what file system are the 2000/XP machines using? Second, I believe Microsoft has published somewhere that having a 98 server and 2000/XP workstations is NOT recommemded.
