Title:
IP address and subnet masks
Dear All,
I'm not sure if this is a question that you would normally answer in this section but any assistance would be gratefully appreciated.
We have a website that provides secure access using IP restriction. The system requires the user to enter their IP range as a network address and network mask e.g., network address 155.91.25.0, network mask 255.255.255.0, would be correct for 155.91.25.*
Unfortunately, some users have ranges such as 194.6.84.96-111 which are more difficult to work out. Most users do not know how to calculate the network address/range for this kind of IP range.
Would anyone know of a simple formula or a free download where a user can enter the beginning and end of the range and find out their subnet mask without too many complicated questions?
Thank you for your help.
Paula
