I thought I could programatically change the paper orientation before executing the printing routine.I know it can be done using a DEVMODE structure but I don't have a lot of experience with windows APIs and I can't find good samples of using Windows APIs in Visual Foxpro.

Have you tried George Tasker's OBJ2BMP from the Downloads section? It creates BMPs from screens, and it would be simple enough to embed the BMP in a VFP Report in landscape mode.
