I wanted your valuable ideas.....

I am selecting a group of records from SQL2000 using SPT,

I want to lock those records that i have selected. These records should be available for read to other users.

Also provide me with some technique that i can use in SQL query to filter out locked records. like some function which will return me the locked status of the record so that i can use it in the WHERE clause.
