If there is a movement in either the Congress or Senate to band all open source from being used by Federal, state and local government, I must say that it troubles me. I hate to see something like this get political. Is it possible that Microsoft is twisting the arms of some of our representatives?

If so, the Open Source Community would be well advised to organize some kind of specail interest group to tell their side of the story. This sould be done before things get out of hand. It would involve raising fund and hiring very solid lobbyists to talk to the key legislators concerning any proposed bill in this area. It sad to say, but this has become the American Way.
