Hi John,
I think that is a good decision. I don't remember all the particulars of this story, but when Microsoft first introduced Hotmail, it purchased the infrastructure which consisted of linux systems running sendmail. In converting the newly acquired mail system Microsoft started changing everything over to it emailing system, hardward, and OS. They were replacing each linux box with three of their own in order to achieve the same load as the Linux boxes. This when on for a couple of months. They never did get it going and finally went back to the linux setup. I don't know if this has since changed, but the author of the aricle, as well as I, found it very humorous.
I purchased RedHat Linux 8.0 today, the standard version, for about $43.00. I will load it on my computer as soon as I finish a couple of thing ahead of it. My computer will be a dual boot with window XP and RedHat Linux 8.0. I do not presently plan on distrubing My Redhat Linux 7.3 mail and web server as it is running soundly with no problem.
