>>>I'm trying to install VFP 7.0 on a new PC. I'm running XP Home edition as the OS, am an administrator on the PC, have no anti-virus programs loaded and cannot get past the error in the Component Update that indicates that the required executable, msiexec.exe is not present in the System32 subdirectory. I can navigate to, and see that the fle does exist in the expected location from windows explorer, I just can't figure out how to make the installer see it. Any ideas to help me out of this issue?

This might help - go to the command window and run a CHKDSK - if you have a large drive - it could take a while.

Also - if you the install offers an option to "Ignore" the missing file - you might try just ignoring the message. But run chkdsk first :chkdsk c:/r
