The suggestion that was given to you will only check for open files on the current machine that you are sitting at. If you wish to see what files are open on a server, on the Manage screen you would right-click on "Computer Management (local)" and then select the option to connect to another computer. From there you should choose the machine name of the file server that is hosting your applications because that is the machine that would have a listing of the open files.
