The most efficient and fastest method I know of is to simply create a LOCAL
VIEW where you join the two tables. It will load and execute faster than
any stand-alone SQL and allows for updates from your grid. Be sure to use
OPTIMISTIC buffering for the local view (or none) within your form and your
choice for the original source tables
