I've been trying to figure out why a specific member of the Universal Thread has some problems with the cookie handling on this site.

Yesterday, he confirmed that he doesn't have any problem with AOL. The problem only occurs with IE. So, we wanted to make sure it was not related to a specific version. We upgraded his browser to the latest IE version. The problem remains.

The member doesn't use any proxy and have this problem from two PC having both IE. We are trying the figure out what setting in IE is causing that.

Basically, the following scenario is applicable:

1. Shift-click on a message's link on the messages list (top panel) to open that message in a separate browser window.

2. Then close that new window after you're done reading the message.

3. Then click (no shift this time) on another message link on the messages list and you could be asked again for your user name and password.

Those who can obtain that, if you find the setting in IE which is interferring with that, I would be extremely happy to know about it. This is something that is extremely difficult to simulate. But, for that particular member, it happens all the time.
