Once you put a file into a General field, it is difficult to take it out again. Also, it takes up more space. Also, you can quickly approach the 2 GB file limit in VFP.
Perhaps you might consider the alternative of storing only the filename in a character or memo field.
Of course, you will still have to check the AV options. I don't know - search the help for "command-line options" or something similar.
