Hi John,

Mplayer works under Linux, but it's a much more involved install. After I installed it, I didn't think it worked either, because I could type mplayer in a command window an nothing happened. I found I needed to adjust the comfiguration file in /etc/mplayer. Most everything in the configuration file is commented out. I uncommented the line
GUI = Yes
, and set up a launcher to /usr/bin/mplayer and it came up.

I downloaded the XMMS Audio Player patch and now the audio player is working. I must say the audio player install was much easier than installing Mplayer.
