A couple of months ago I asked and received some very helpful advice about using VFP apps on WTS and/or Citrix networks. Since then I have been looking further into it, and we have even tried running a system running in UK on WTS and accessed via 56K modem in Australia - it worked perfectly well and although fractionally slower was well usable. When accessing it via a web page the system performed exactly at the same speed as if it had been running on the PC in Australia instead of being 12,000 miles away.

The ramifications of this for us as a business are mind-boggling in terms if enabling customers who wish to access their apps via remote access, and in terms of having their apps running on centralised servers (which will significantly reduce system support time).

My question is this: has anyone found any real major problems with running VFP apps over WTS or Citrix (apart from minor stuff like set-up printing problems)to the extent that their system had failed to be successfully used
or was significantly less of a success than was hoped for?

Also, could you list what you consider the main requirements are for the successful implementation of a VFP app over WTS/Citrix. I presume server RAM is issue No 1, and i understand that you should consider about 64 MByte RAM for each user.....but perhaps this could be lower/higher???

Your feedback would be greatly welcomed - and thanks to all who previously responded to earlier queries on this subject.

Regards
