The application I wrote is for a casino. It is used for doing player ratings for table games players. I needed to display a graphical view of the tables. So, I needed a graphical interface and it was better to write the program in EVB. The look and feel needed to be more that what could be done in a web browser. I started the app just as you are saying but I quickly switch over to EVB.

I just send small xml data between the program and the IIS server. It is very quick. I parse the result of the xml that come back from the IIS server and place them into vb controls like: drop downs, list boxes, and grids. The program is actually faster than the IExplorer for the IPAQ. IE for the IPAQ, I find kind of slow.

You would be surprised at how well it works. It data being send back and forth is very small which makes for a very quick app. Plus I get the extra benefits of VB.
