I've got more questions for him:

Can you still the the code in the database? Have you tried to COMPILE DATABASE? Have you opened the database exclusively, and tried Cleanup Database?

>What network do the tables reside on? Are they flagged as read-only by any chance? Do all tables reside in the same directory? A user-rights issue maybe? Can you insert or add records outside the app manually? Not an exclusive use issue by any chance? Does the problem only occur in your app and no place else or anyway that you attempt to access the tables? What are the sizes of the tables, their indices, and their fpt files? Can you pack the tables successfully and the memo file too? What happens if rebuild the index tags from scratch?
