Yes you are correct. I zipped up the .doc and then created a self extracting file of the zip. That caused the client's DL dialog to pop up when the link to the file was hit. But... my users don't have a clue as to how to extract the .doc from the self extracting file. So therefore, I still need to have a .doc file cause the DL dialog on the client side to popup.
