Speaking of the SLA....

I used to work at MGM and occasionally interacted with a consultant Emily Montague. This was maybe 4-5 years ago. She was extremely softspoken, but seemed very intelligent in the few dealings I had with her. I was a little shocked to read several months ago that her real name is Emily Harris, of SLA fame. And some named her as the gunman who gunned down the teller when they robbed the bank.

We all sat around and joked that it was probably a good idea that none of us ever brought up the topic of politics while she was around.

>>Some people have weighed in on this who I count as dear friends. I'd even go so far as to call you my friend, John. I know, it's a cruel thing to say. So, I have low expectations for the replies, if any, I'll get, but......

>>What the hell is this cackling _behind_ someone's back who not only won't be here to defend himself, but is _banned_ from doing so? This is a new low of cowardly gossip I've witnessed.
>>
>>If y'all respond that JVP _deserves_ it, then you're no better than what he is being criticized for.

>Memories of JVP’s actions on the UT go beyond criticism. Recalling these memories is not productive. I agree with your comments. His memory lingers on.

>Somehow this reminds me of the television news. Some years ago things were really slow so KGO (ABC) in San Francisco did a special news story: “Ten Years Ago Today. Patty Hurst and the SLA…”! Surely there wasa better topic as there should be in this case.

>This brings meaning to the old expression, “If you cannot say something nice about someone say nothing at all”! If people really want to express themselves and how they feel about JVP, they should seek him out on the Internet and express his/her feelings to him. I really do not care to discuss a story of this nature. Others seem to be like scavengers after the kill has been made. They did not contribute to the kill but relish the blood.
