Hi Nancy,

I also have mixed feelings about this. However, I'm sure michel had very good reasons for abandoning him from the UT. Because of the distance I've never met John in real life, but from the various posts from different people (including you) he seems to be a real nice guy then (I supose as long as you don't disagree with him).

Personally however, who only knows him from the UT, I get a total different picture. His persistence in beeing right goes so far as belittling and insulting other people who disagree, which I find (and from the reactions from others as well) pretty disturbing, non productive and misleading. His urge to present opinions (about VFPs standing and future) as facts might haved caused many (potential) VFP developers to draw (at least IMO) the wrong conclusions. And this I cannot (and will not) accept. I short, I do regard JVP a dangerous man for the VFP community.

I'm aware that other people might have another standpoint, and I respect that. I agree that making fun of the actions is counter productive, but OTOH it illustrates the opinions of JVP here on the UT.

Walter,

>Some people have weighed in on this who I count as dear friends. I'd even go so far as to call you my friend, John. I know, it's a cruel thing to say. So, I have low expectations for the replies, if any, I'll get, but......

>What the hell is this cackling _behind_ someone's back who not only won't be here to defend himself, but is _banned_ from doing so? This is a new low of cowardly gossip I've witnessed.

>If y'all respond that JVP _deserves_ it, then you're no better than what he is being criticized for.
