Excel gives you the ability to save space by linking the data source for a pivot table on one sheet to the data source for a pivot table on another sheet. My problem is that this link gets broken if I reset the external data source connection string for the original sheet. The only way I can currently see to establish the link again is by recreating the subordinate pivot table. I tried to record a macro while creating a pivot table via the Pivot Table Wizard in order to capture the code for establishing this link, but the macro does not record the steps where you are prompted to save space by linking to another sheet. Anyone know what the macro code is to establish this link?
