>I just fired up the view designer and added two tables from the Northwind database (Categories and Employees). I added a few fields to the query, and added a filter "Categories.categoryname = 'Hello'" from the designer. Then I brought up the SQL code to try out the two-way option. I modified the line: Categories.categoryname = "Hello" to read: Categories.categoryname = "HelloThere" , then I tried to close the window, assuming it would update the view designer. Instead, I get the error "There is a duplicate table alias 'EMPLOYEES' in the FROM clause", and another "View/Query designer is unable to reload your changes. Would you like to rebuild content from designer?". Am I misunderstanding how this is supposed to work?

No, it should work as you describe. Check that you didn't introduce any syntax errors with your changes.
