When you index on ?? tag ?? it creates a link between the .dbf and .cdx files. When you use the .dbf file it will try to restore the link to the .cdx file. If the .cdx file is not where foxpro expects it to be foxpro gives you the option to break the link. If you copy the .cdx file to the same folder as the .dbf you shouldn't get the error.

Why do you need to copy the files to the users folder? Just asking because it doesn't seem very conventional.
