In another news item, there was a blurb about the VFP .Net toolkit in a DevX newsletter today. The newsletter is called the "database development update" and this news item points to a DevX page from a CoDe magazine article by Daniel Leclair. (If I remember correctly)

>Could someone that is familiar with the style of Slashdot, submit a news item to them about the VFP8 free beta download? The site is mostly linux dudes, but they like anarchy stuff, and stuff that sticks it to Microsoft. Some angles:
>- VFP beta is free
>- VFP has a rabid community
>- VFP is a low profile, under recognized tool but a great tool
>- it is an alternative to .NET, but comes from Microsoft (this is an interesting angle)

>Slashdot is an extremely popular news portal for computing insiders, so this would be a bit of a coup and goes hand-in-hand with raising VFP's profile in a grass roots way.
