Not exactly VFP8 related, but what I do is not let multiple users access the DBC at all. Each user's info is saved locally and then copied to the server. The server insert/update locally. I was having an issue with a couple of "power" users shuuting their machines off and corrupting the shared data, so the workaround was to just not share. I think it might be too late for your current app (since it's already in production), but it might be something worth thinking about for the future.
