I must agree with you. Engaging him in dialogue would all too often lead to grief. It got to the point where it seemed he was a source of flesh for the vultures to enjoy. When someone expresses an attitude I do not appreciate I attempt to avoid confrontation. Others enjoy the battle and the Internet is well suited to this sort of display.
If a Cactus has spines why attempt to embrace it? Some know the result and enjoy the pain.
