>You are willing to fight for your freedom, but you do not see IRAQ's building a nuclear arsenal (if there is one) and biological weapons (there definitely is an aresenal of those) a threat to your freedom?

A threat to my freedom? No. A threat to my safety yes. Just as anyone else who owns a weapon is a threat to my safety. That includes Iraq, Iran, N. Korea, France, the US Government and most of my neighbors. All a threat to my saftey, but I'm not going to start a war over it. Remeber, the mind and body are just as dangerious when used as a weapon as bombs and guns.

Lets continue to talk about safety. The US thinks Iraq is a threat (and like you say, discloses absolutely no evidence of this threat) and therefore wants to attack Iraq. Iraq has all the reason in the world to view the US as a serious threat to their saftey. Because of this, Iraq is more justified in attacking US than the US is in attacking Iraq.

Bush's "We will attack anyone that is a threat" mantra not only represents the worst critical reasoning skills our government has to offer, it opens the door for hundreds and hundreds of other conflicts to escalate into war. Its already happened. Read the news.

On the other hand, the Patriot Act and the Homeland Security Strategy of the United States are direct threats to my freedom like no other force on the planet.

>Keep in mind that IRAQ has clear intentions of ridding the world of our leaders (definitely)

And that makes them unique... how?

>There is a REAL problem here in that one cannot disclose information gained while serving in the govt in any capacity to the public without jepardizing our national security, yet that very information is necessary for the public to understand fully the risks involved (for both sides) in order to make an informed decision. I cannot be any clearer than that, comprende?

I understand this point. There are parrelles to organized religion here. We have no way to verify the validity of the Governments claims, thus we are forced to either blindly follow or base our loyalty on the aspects of the current administration that are verifiable.

Based on what I have seen so far, I see no reason to blindly follow Bush. I've never been a fan of the blind leading the blind.

Feel free to attempt to convince me otherwise. I'd like to be a believer. I really would.

>Yet, the world is slowly but surely moving towards the worldwide war forecast to start in the middle east years ago... Something in the stars perhaps??? I'm afraid that there are simply not enough peace supporters out there to stop what is about to happen. Only Saddam allowing complete access to every corner of his country (and then I doubt it) could prevent what is coming.

This is complete and utter bullshit. There's a way to stop a war. Its stop making more enemies than you can handle! Here's an idea, make peace with Iraq by removing the restrictions that are crippiling their country. Stop telling them we are going to kick their ass. Be their friend. Admit we fucked up, and express a desire to work together. Thats how you stop a war.

War on Drugs, War on Terrorism, same symptoms. Same blatantly obvious conclusions. But nothing changes.
