No offence taken, and hopefully none given either. I don't think it is quibbling (that sure is a funny looking word *grin*). I'm not talking about tampering, I'm talking about applications using legitimate means to alter VFP data. Can you do that with SQL Server?

You can call your system an RDBMS if you want to. I don't know if you would be correct :)

The fact is that all data is held as files. And any file can be reverse engineered and tampered with. So, if I add the proper security so that a table can't be opened without the DBC, then I could call my system an RDBMS?
