I went back through the thread to see what you are meaning here, but I couldn't make sense of your statement below. Can you elaborate?

The best I can make out is: your experience with VFP7 beta didn't show slowness, so you don't expect slowness in VFP8 beta.

I still can't figure what "feature" has been 'turned off'.
