I should have known, here is the proposed solution:

1. In your report, create a field.
2. Make your field use the wingdings2 font.
- highlight the field,
- menu option "format", option "font".
2. In the field put the following statement,
adjusting it for your own cursor/table etc.

iif(mycursor.field1), 'R', 'Q')
