>I have a FoxPro 2.6 app. "sitting" on a Novell 3.1 server. A new workstation running WinXP Pro just arrived and problems occure when I try to call the FoxPro 2.5 app. from this new baby. Here are the problems:

>1 ) Connot control Screen Size of the "DOS Window". I click on a link to a batch file on the server to start the Fox2.6 app. and here is the content of the batch file f:\foxpro25\forprox -t f:\main.prg. There is no problem to start the app. and it is running in a "dos window", but I have no way to control the windows size just like Win 98. It run as half screen even in a full screen mode. So, how could I control the Window Size of DOS app.?

The screen display mode is defaulting to 50 line VGA. Add the line DISPLAY=VGA25 to the CONFIG.FP file.

In Chinese Win98, there is a button on the "DOS Window" to switch between English display or Chinese display (English Code/Big5 Code), but there is no such button on WinXP "DOS Window". I tried to set the language code to Big5 in the Link property, but it will switch to English Code automatically when the Dos Windows start. How could I control the language display of dos window?

You need to modify the .PIF file for the .EXE file. Right-click on the .EXE file (or on the Command Prompt shortcut, whichever is used to launch the app), select Properties, and adjust the property sheet as needed.

>3 ) This poor old app. also directs its output to a Novell print queue in this way, CAPTURE NT NB NFF TI5 SERVER=xx Q=PRINTQ_7
>This Novell command works fine on Windows 98 but not WinXP. What is the problem with this command?

The CAPTURE command is not implemented for XP; you'll need to go into the Windows printer dialog and assign the proper Novell Print Queues via the Windows dialog to printer ports. If you need to switch printer assignments during program execution, you may need a third-party tool to replace CAPTURE.
