While John Koziol's LS is a very good option (which I use), for a quick on-screen one-line-per-field listing you have to change the _screen.fontname.

When you start VFP (and before you open any other files) click on Window then Properties Window. I have my font set to Andale Mono, and fontsize 10. Much better. There is a place to set the default font for 'TO PRINT' things, but that escapes me right now.
