I use Row Buffering.
I looked at transactions, but determined they would not work that well. Our applacation is used in a multi-user environment (anywhere from 5-100 workstations all entering records) and, if I recall, during the trasaction the table was not accessable, either read or write, to the other users. Transactions seemed to be aimed at batch processing during after hours.
